Ski Size Guide
What length
should you be on?
People either overthink this or don't think about it at all and just order by height. Here's how to get it right.
Start Here
Height and skill
Height gets you in the neighborhood, but skill moves you within it more than people expect. Same height, a beginner and an expert can be two or three sizes apart. The better you ski, the more ski you can handle and want underfoot, because you’re driving it instead of surviving it.
From there it comes down to how you ski and what you’re buying it for.
Shorter skis
- Quicker and easier to control
- Better in tight terrain and trees
- Suited to lighter riders
- Can feel squirrelly at speed
Longer skis
- More stable and hold a line at speed
- Float better in powder
- Suited to heavier riders
- More work to throw around in trees
Which Way to Lean
Size up or size down
Size up if
You ski fast and drive the ski hard. You want stability at speed. You’re buying it mainly for powder, where the extra length floats you.
Size down if
You ski playful, like a quick turn, and spend your time in trees and tight spots. You’re lighter, or still dialing in your technique.
By the Numbers
Recommended length by height
A starting point for each ski in the lineup. Advanced riders skew longer for more stability at speed. Between two levels? Split the difference, or just ask us.

The Gut Check
How to know you got it wrong
Too long
The ski takes you for a ride. You’re fighting to stay forward, it wants to run, and you never quite feel in charge.
Too short
It washes out. You go to put power into a turn and there’s nothing there to push against. Fine until you want to really ski it.
A Word on Our Skis
Ours run true to length
They’re rockered, so there’s some float built in, but the elliptical sidecut keeps them quick, which means you can often run the length you want for stability without it feeling like a barge in the trees.
Still Not Sure
Let us dial it in
Our Ski Finder walks you through it in about a minute, model and length. Or just reach out with your height, weight, and how you ski, and we’ll tell you exactly what we’d put you on. We do this all day.
