Where It Started
Built from the mountain up.
Ellis Skis started with a problem: the skis that existed didn’t quite fit the skiing we wanted to do. The big brands optimized for marketing categories... not for how mountains actually feel when you’ve been on them every week for a decade.
So we built our own. What started in a small workshop in the Wasatch range became a deliberate, methodical project to make three skis that would each be exactly right for a specific kind of skiing, nothing more, nothing less.
Every design decision traces back to a day on snow. The widths came from tracking performance across conditions over a full season. The rocker profiles were refined over multiple prototypes until they stopped feeling like compromises and started feeling like answers.

How We Work
01
Craft over volume
We don’t make skis at scale. Every pair is built to order, with real attention at each step. That means lower production numbers, longer wait times, and a ski that reflects the care that went into it.

Shape is everything
We obsess over the geometry. Width, rocker profile, sidecut, flex pattern... each decision is made for a specific reason, for a specific kind of skiing. Nothing exists by default.

Terrain-first design
We design for conditions, not categories. Our three models map to how the mountain feels underfoot, not how the industry traditionally slices a product line.
